AZKALS to face the Uzbekistan U23 in Dubai this Saturday

The Azkals will have their first friendly with the Uzbeksitan U23 White Wolves this Saturday in Maktoum Stadium Al Nasr Sports Club, Dubai.

The Azkals will be composed of known veterans, brothers, Phil and James Younhusband, Angel and Juan Luis Guirado, Chiefy Caligdong, Misagh Bahadoran, Paolo Pascual and Lexton Moy and Ian Araneta.

Newbies Joshua Beloya and Fil-German David Wolf joins the squad as well. Other Fil-foreigners, Neil Etheridge, Roland Mueler and Jason de Jong will be playing only on a game or two of the 3 friendly games slated because of some club assignments they have to attend to.

Do we have a game with The Uzbekistan U23?

The question still looms in the internet who we are really dealing with this Saturday. Will it be the Uzbekistan U23 or the Uzbekistan Olympic team or are they like the Azkals Alyansa where some members were picked up from different local clubs.

Anyhow, here's a brief who the Uzbekistan U23.They've beaten Australia's U23 with a score of 2-0 in the during the Asian Qualifiers for the Olympic Games in London this 2012. They're leading their bracket for the Olympics Asian qualifiers topping UAE, Iraq and Australia's U23 teams.

The Uzbeks will be having a set of friendlies this month as well with Oman and Egypt on the 16th and 25th respectively.

Now the question is, how much would we fare on this competition with this team? Will the reinforcements of Neil Etheridge, Roland Mueller and Jason de Jong in the roster make a huge difference in their gameplay against the Uzbeks?

In or Out?

The blogosphere has been talking about recognizable faces missing from the roster in recent games.

Simon Greatwich - Multiple netizens reacted to a post in pinoygossipboy.ph that the midfielder was sacked because of low performance. News about Simon scalping was downplayed like the news about the model wannabe who cried out rape.

Nate Burkey and Anton del Rosario - Both were not included in the roster of players sent to Dubai and Qatar practicing for the up and coming Challenge Cup to be held this March in Nepal. Does this mean they've been dropped completely by Weiss and Palami? A lot of fans are asking why are they not in the team sent to the Middle East. Does that mean that the addition of Beloya, Wolf and Juan Luis Guirado will be a swan song for some of its vets?

What's your take on this?
